Police have made an arrest after a man, 77, was left with a broken hip, cuts and bruising in a well-known Somerset town.
The victim remains in hospital while officers investigate the serious assault on Clifton Road in Weston-Super-Mare.
It's thought the attack took place between 8pm and 9pm on Wednesday, March 29.
Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
