Crime has risen by more than ten per cent in Chard, Crewkerne and Ilminster over the past year.Figures released by Avon and Somerset Constabulary shows that 2,229 offences were reported to police in the three towns during the 12 months to August 2016, up 14 per cent from 1,914 in the previous year.Of those, 1,266 offences were reported in Chard, with 545 crimes in Crewkerne and 418 in Ilminster.In the previous year, the figures were 1,094, 458 and 362 for each town respectively.Also revealed are...
