A Frome man accused of an offence of shoplifting has elected to stand trial at Taunton Crown Court after denying the allegation.Paul Thomas Hirst, 38, of Coleridge Road, appeared in the dock before Somerset Magistrates, sitting at Yeovil.He pleaded not guilty to a charge that on August 18 at Frome he stole meat worth £100 belonging to the Co-op.The defendant then exercised his right to elect to stand trial at Taunton Crown Court.Following a review of the case the matter was adjourned until...
