Police say a controlled explosion of a FIVE TONNE Second World War device has gone according to plan this morning.The Military Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team put a 1,000 metre cordon in place and evacuated 32 properties, six businesses and closed local roads as a safety precaution.Businesses and residents within a 2,000 metre area of the quarry were also warned.The device was found at Henbury Quarry on Old Market Road in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, on Wednesday morning (November 23).READ...
