A Chard teenager who lost control of his car and ploughed into a garden wall left the scene of the accident and drove off without leaving his details.However a witness spotted the car driving away and when police tracked down the owner they discovered that Jake Shaw had been driving it at the time.When he appeared in court he said that the car had just been fitted with new brakes and when he went to apply them the wheels locked and the collision occurred.Shaw, 18, of Bishop Close, pleaded guilty...
