A homeless man who was caught stealing three bottles of gin in Yeovil had his wish granted when he was sent to prison.
Somerset Magistrates were told that heroin addict Paul David Williams had only just been sentenced to a community order by the courts when he went shoplifting again.
He had then descended into a downwards spiral of despair and just wanted to go into custody so he could get some help.
Williams, 44, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to stealing three bottles of gin worth...
